California Proposition 65 Notice

What is California’s Proposition 65?

California’s Proposition 65, officially known as the Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986, is a law that applies only in the State of California. Proposition 65 requires businesses to provide a clear warning if their products expose Californians to certain chemicals that the state has identified as potentially causing cancer, birth defects, or other reproductive harm.

The list of these chemicals is maintained by California and currently includes over 900 substances—some naturally occurring, others synthetic. You may see Proposition 65 warning labels not just on supplements, but also in restaurants, grocery stores, coffee shops, furniture, electronics, and even parking garages throughout California.

Why Does Nudora Include a Proposition 65 Warning?

Some of Nudora’s ingredients are derived from natural sources such as herbs, roots, and botanicals that grow in soil where trace amounts of heavy metals—like lead or cadmium—may be present. These substances can occur naturally in the environment and are not added intentionally to our formulas.

In certain cases, even very small, naturally occurring amounts of these elements may exceed the strict daily thresholds set by California’s Proposition 65. If that happens, we include a Proposition 65 warning on the product to comply with California law, and to give consumers full transparency.

Is a Proposition 65 Warning a Safety Concern?

No. A Proposition 65 warning does not mean a product is unsafe or violates any federal safety standards. All Nudora products meet or exceed FDA and international safety guidelines.

California’s thresholds for Proposition 65 are often much lower than those set by other regulatory bodies. For example, the warning may be required even if the level of a chemical is 1,000 times lower than the level shown to have no effect in laboratory testing.

We include this warning to remain compliant with California law—not because our products are harmful.

What Is Nudora Doing to Ensure Product Safety?

At Nudora, quality and purity are non-negotiable. Every ingredient in our formulas is rigorously tested for:

  • Identity & potency
  • Heavy metals (including lead, arsenic, cadmium, mercury)
  • Microbial contaminants
  • Pesticides
  • Residual solvents

If any ingredient contains naturally occurring compounds that may require a Proposition 65 warning in California, we label it accordingly. However, all of our products are manufactured in FDA-registered facilities under strict quality standards, and every batch is tested for safety and consistency.

Does Proposition 65 Apply Outside of California?

No. Proposition 65 is a California state regulation. It only applies to products sold to consumers within California. If you live outside California, this warning does not apply to you.
